Murphy, a junior outfielder, was one of the top offensive players in the Big 12 Conference in 2005 after hitting .328 with 10 homers, 19 doubles and 45 RBI. The junior outfielder from Murphy’s selection is the 55th overall for a Wildcat baseball player since 1965 and he also became the highest drafted Wildcat since Pat Hertzel was taken in the 14th round back in 1998.
