Bonds Named to Big 12 "Good Works" Team

DALLAS, Texas Kansas State cross country’s Morgan Bonds was named to the inaugural Big 12 Fall Sports “Good Works” Team. The 12-member team is made up of one student-athlete from each Big 12 school that participates in the fall sports of football, cross country, volleyball, or soccer.

Bonds, a native of Hutchinson, Kan., was selected by Kansas State coaches for recognition based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in a Big 12 sponsored sport.

Recently named a First-team Academic All-Big 12 member, Bonds serves as the captain of the 2006 cross country team. She has a pair of top-10 finishes this season, with her best finish coming at the Kansas State Invitational on Sept. 8, where she turned in a fifth-place finish.

Beginning this athletic year, the Big 12 will announce 12-person “Good Works” teams for fall, winter (men’s basketball, women’s basketball, swimming and diving, gymnastics, wrestling), and spring sports (golf, tennis, track and field, softball, baseball).
