
TUCSON, Ariz. With their lowest round of the season and four shots shy of the Kansas State 18-hole record, the Wildcats moved up five places to finish fourth at the Mountain View Collegiate. Kansas State shot a field-low 290 in the third round and finished the tournament carding 298-302-290890, 26-over par. The 54-hole score marks K-State’s lowest of the season, bettering the previous mark of 893 from the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, which took place at Colbert Hills Golf Course on Oct. 10-11.
Helene Robert led the Wildcat squad by tying for third and becoming K-State’s 19th all-time medalist. Robert fired a 1-under par with rounds of 73-70-72215, tying her career 54-hole score and also the third best in Wildcat history.
Wildcat Michelle Regan ended day one in a tie for 57th, but battled back in the third round by shooting a field-low 18-hole score of 68, 4-under par. The mark ties for the fourth-best round in K-State history. Regan finished in a tie for 25th with scores of 75-81-68224, two shots from 20th place. The tournament marked Regan’s career 18-hole and 54-hole low.
Also for the Wildcats, Kali Quick tied for 30th with rounds of 74-78-75227, 11-over par. Hailey Mireles tied for 46th with a 14-over 230, and Katy Heffel finished in a tie for 53rd with scores of 76-79-78233. Individually competing was Krista Nelson who finished 69th, shooting her career 54-hole best with a 24-over 240.
Kansas took the team title by carding rounds of 297-297-290884, finishing one shot ahead of Nebraska (297-295-293885). The individual title went to Arizona’s Adriana Zwanck, who shot a 3-under 213 and finished one shot ahead of Christi Athas of Iowa State.
