Novice Eight Captures Gold at Southern IRA's

K-State’s Novice Eight continues to make school history weekend-after-weekend, after a strong showing in the fall season. Coxswain Anna Wagner, Amber Mulyck, Michael Knoll, Kate Priest, Whitney Revell, Julia Roque, Carlee Parke, Jayme File and Michelle Higgins, turned in the program’s best finish by a Novice squad at the Southern IRA’s since women’s rowing was added as a varsity sport in 1996. The Wildcats raced in a straight final (7:15.2) and topped crews from Cincinnati, North Carolina, Purdue, Louisville and Tennessee.

Overall, all four K-State boats entered at the regional regatta advanced to the “A” finals of their respective events. For the second time in the last three years, the Second Varsity Eight placed second in the Women’s JV Eight race. The Wildcats fell short of

In the tightest race of the day, the Varsity Four fought hard the entire length of the race, but crossed the finish line less than a second behind William & Mary. In fact, only two-to-three seconds separated the 1-4 spots in the event.
