
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. Kansas State high jumpers Scott Sellers and Kaylene Wagner secured top-five finishes in the high jump during the AT&T Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Michael A. Carroll Stadium over the weekend.
Making his outdoor championship debut, Sellers finished fourth with a clearance of 7-02.25. The product of Katy, Texas adds this finished to his strong debut season with the Wildcats in which he earned All-American honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Wagner also finished fourth with a height of 6-00.00. The native of Goleta, Calif., sat out the 2006 indoor and outdoor seasons after transferring from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. While at Cal Poly-SLO, Wagner finished third in the high jump at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships and registered a school-record clearance of 6-03.50.
Also in action at the championships were Breanna Eveland and Candice Mills. Eveland registered a top-10 finish in the women’s pole vault, clearing 14-01.25 for eighth place. The Grand Rapids, Mich., product finished her Wildcat career by holding both the indoor and outdoor pole vault records at over 14 feet and securing three All-American citations.
Mills finished just outside the top 10 in 11
th in the women’s long jump with a mark of 20-05.75. The
Omaha, Neb., native earned her first All-American honor just two weeks ago with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
