Cats Compete Well at Pre-NCAA

The Pre-NCAA Championships brought 23 of the top 30 ranked women’s teams in the nation to the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course. In the blue race 41 total teams competed including
Ramos finishes with another career best crossing the line with a 6K time of 20:20.6. With the time she records the fastest 6K time in Wildcat history topping former great Amy Mortimer. “I am very happy at the way the women ran today,” said Smith. “They competed well. Honestly I think we can run better, and we will run better. We had almost every one of our women compete at the best of their ability today. Our focus is on the Big 12 now, and we look forward to competing well in the championship.”
For the men Umberger finishes 230th overall and is the top-runner for the wildcats for the second consecutive race this season, running an 8K time of 26:14.1. Jack Sachse ran in just his second event of the season and finishes as the second runner for the Wildcats followed by senior Danny Schneider.
