Totten Places Fifth at IHSA Regionals

"Dana had tough luck today,” Western head coach Casie Williamson said. “Her horse was really hard to ride in comparison to other horses in her class. She rode really smart through every move. I am really proud of how hard she worked to get here and how well she performed today."
Along with Totten a group of three Wildcat equestrian riders also competed in an IHSA Western competition Saturday, at
Highlights from the weekend included Totten placing first in Open Horsemanship and junior Valerie Dysart taking home first in Intermediate Horsemanship.
Junior Alden Haugh competed in Advanced Horsemanship and placed second, while sophomore Nicole Keenan placed third in the same event.
"All the girls rode really well and got great experience coming to ride away from home,” Williamson said. “The horses are much harder to ride outside our home arena, so I am really proud of how everyone performed."
The Wildcats next action takes place Saturday Mar. 29 and Sunday Mar. 30 at Fox Creek Farm for the Central Championships, beginning at 9 a.m.
