Western Captures Third Place at VENC

Losing only one match in Horsemanship, the Wildcats continued their supremacy winning the Reining portion of the show, 3-0, with Alyssa Freeman tying her match at 146.

“I am thrilled for the Western squad’s performance today and all weekend,” Western head coach Casie Williamson said. “They not only rode great, but had incredible confidence and support in themselves and one another. The entire show was definitely a team effort and everyone worked hard to make it happen.”
In her final ride as a Wildcat, senior Lindsey Salsbury led the Horsemanship squad with a pivotal 147.5-142.5 win. Sophomore Laura Browne and junior Alyssa Freeman picked up the other two wins for K-State, as Browne defeated Samantha Davidson, 146-136, and Freeman rode to victory with a score of 150.
In Reining, sophomore Morgan Campbell captured a win with a score of 144, while sophomore Tara Hallan collected her eight win in varsity competition and freshman Alecia Zimbelman picked up a 149.5-147 win over Jacque Roberts.
“This was a great end to our season and we plan to pick up right where we left off next year,” Williamson said.
