Hanson Named to Community of Champions

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State rower Kylie Hanson has been selected as the school's recipient of the Fall Chick-Fil-A Community of Champions for her work in the classroom and within the Manhattan community.
During the fall, winter and spring terms, one student-athlete from each Big 12 Conference school will be honored based on academics, community service, leadership and sportsmanship. Each institution will receive $3,000 from Chick-Fil-A for their student-athletes' work and positive example.
Hanson is a senior on the rowing team for the Wildcats and maintains a 3.28 GPA in public health and nutrition. She volunteers time with Cats for Cans, Read and Achieve as well as Read and Achieve. Hanson also has helped with Adopt a Family during the holidays and participated in Fellowship for Christian Athletes and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition to her other community service, Hanson has assisted in the Special Olympics Sports Clinic at K-State, Walkin' with a Wildcat Mentoring Program and volunteered for the Parkinson's Disease 5K.
