Sunday’s match with UALR (1-2) will be the second meeting in the series, as K-State captured the first match on Feb. 19, 1989, 7-2. The Wildcats are 6-4 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt Conference.
The Wildcats have had four singles players register 2-1 records in the early stages of the spring campaign. K-State players with a 2-1 mark are: senior Katerina Kudlackova, junior Natasha Vieira, sophomore Antea Huljev and freshman Petra Chuda. Vieira, Huljev and Chuda enter the weekend with overall records of .500 or better this season, with Huljev owning a team-high 10 wins in singles play.
K-State has also been bolstered by the doubles pairing of Vieira and Chuda. The tandem, playing at the No. 3 doubles position, has registered a 2-1 mark this spring and is 7-5 overall this season. Chuda has been a solid doubles player for the Wildcats this season, with a team-leading overall doubles record of 11-6. Vieira is the other Wildcat to register a winning doubles record with an 8-5 mark.
