K-State Hosts TCU on Friday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – After a nail biting finish against the Lady Bears, the Kansas
State equestrian team looks to pick up a
win to end the home portion of its fall schedule this Friday against No.
6 TCU at Timbercreek Stables. The meet starts at 10 a.m., and admission is free and open to the public.
“We are really looking forward to hosting our last fall meet,” said head coach Casie Maxwell. “We have built a lot of momentum off the last two meets, and I am looking forward to seeing the team perform after such a close match two weeks ago.”
Last season, the Wildcats evened the series at Timbercreek Stables as they upset the Horned Frogs, 14-5.
A trio of juniors will lead the Hunt Seat team: Henley Adkins, Christina Martinelli and Taylor Schmidt. Alongside them will be sophomores Halle Kutsche and Molly Dunn, who has picked up two victories this season as well as a Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) in Equitation over Fences against South Dakota State. The Hunt Seat is 1-2 on the season as they look to juniors Gretchen Koenen in Equitation on the Flat and sophomores Daniella McCormick in Equitation over Fences to pick up a point for the Wildcats.

Kemper will be a threat to TCU in Horsemanship, as she and junior Alyssa
Lombardi guide junior Sydney Anson and sophomores Ashley Anderson, Paige Kemper
and Taylor Serrano to bring home a win in the discipline on Friday. Kemper has
stepped up in the past few meets picking up her first career MOP honor against
Baylor.
In Reining, K-State has outscored their opponents 12-11 in the fall season. The Wildcats will look to seniors Kara Guy and Nicholle Hatton to pave the way for the Wildcats in this discipline. Senior Danielle Kemper, sophomore Brynn Critcher and freshman newcomer, Taylor Todd, who is now 2-1 in her debut season as a Wildcat, will round out the lineup in the Reining arena.
