Wildcat High Jumpers Earn Honorable Mention Status
Jun 12, 2015 | Track & Field
Competition opened at 2.08m with both Bryan and Gipson clearing the height on their second attempts. Moving to 2.12m, Gipson cleared the height on his second attempt, while Bryan could not find any rhythm, bowing out on three tries along with four other competitors.
Gipson would go on to miss on three tries at 2.16m/7-01, finishing just outside the top-16 and at least second team All-American status.
The Wildcats will now shift their focus to the final day of NCAA action with the women's squad finishing up competition. In action for K-State will be a trio of Wildcats in Akela Jones, Alyx Treasure and Kim Williamson in the high jump, as well as Alyssa Kelly in the triple jump. The high jump is scheduled to run at 3:30 p.m. CT, while the triple jump will start at 4 p.m. Updates on all of the day's action for K-State can be found on Twitter via @kstate_gameday under #KStateTF.
