Oct 11, 2017 | Men's Golf
The Kansas State men's golf team will look to bounce back from a 10th-place finish three weeks ago as it travels to Jonesborough, Tennessee, to compete in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, Friday through Sunday. Tee times at the par-72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at The Ridge begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET) each day.
K-State will send five members of the team to compete in the event with Matthieu Caron, Jacob Eklund, Trent Evans, Ben Fernandez and Jeremy Gandon making up the scoring lineup.
"We are looking forward to competing this weekend in Tennessee," head coach Grant Robbins said. "It is a great tournament that gets tremendous support from the community."
The Wildcats carded a 15-over par 867 in the Trinity Forest Invitational, Sept. 24-26. Both Gandon and Fernandez shot 1-under par 212 and tied for 11th place. Jacob Eklund finished in a tie for 61st by recording a 12-over par 225.
Redshirt Freshman Mattieu Carron participated in the season-opening Badger Invitational, posting an even-par 216 to place in the top 25. Trent Evans will compete in the first tournament of his senior season.
Joining K-State in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate will be Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, East Carolina, Furman, Kent State, Louisville, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, UNC Wilmington, VCU, Villanova, Virginia Tech and Virginia.
