
K-State Men’s Team Earns Program-Best No. 12 Spot in Midwest Regional Rankings

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State men's cross country team earned their second consecutive appearance in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings this week, as they climbed two spots to a 12th place ranking in the Midwest, the highest the team has been ranked in the region program history.
The men's team climbed in the rankings after placing fifth overall with 151 points at the Bradley Pink Classic where they placed two seniors, Colton Donahue and Lukas Koch, within the top 15 overall. The Wildcats were rounded out by solid performances all-around, as the top five finishers placed within the top 50 overall, earning the team's second-consecutive Midwest Ranking, and the best men's ranking in the region in program history. Prior to this week's ranking, the Wildcat men made appearances on four separate occasions in the Midwest Region, with their most recent coming two weeks ago where the team ranked 14th. The Wildcats earned two 14th place rankings in 2016, and their first ranking in 2015, where the team placed 15th.
The USTFCCCA regional rankings began in 2010, with the K-State women earning their best ranking (No. 5) in week one of 2010. For a full listing on all of the regional rankings, click here.
Next up, the K-State cross country teams travel to the Big 12 Championship on October 28, as they head to Round Rock, Texas to enter their postseason schedule. Following the Big 12 Championship, the Wildcats will put their Midwest ranking to the test at the NCAA Midwest Regional on November 10 in Ames, Iowa.
