
K-State Baseball Unveils Entire 2018 Schedule

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State baseball will begin its 2018 season on February 16, as 15th-year head coach Brad Hill revealed the entire 56-game slate that includes 29 home games and non-conference trips to South Carolina, Virginia and California.
K-State will open its home campaign on Friday, March 2 with a three-game series against La Salle. Creighton, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma State and Kansas all visit Tointon Family Stadium in 2018.
The Wildcats officially begin their season on Friday, February 16 against South Alabama in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at TicketReturn.com Field – home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs Class A affiliate). K-State will also square off with Indiana, Virginia Tech and 2016 national champion Coastal Carolina while in South Carolina.
While on its 10-day, eight-game road swing to kick off the season, K-State will head to Elon, North Carolina, for a mid-week matchup with the Elon Phoenix before a weekend series at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Cats' home opener on March 2 will start a string of 14 consecutive games at Tointon Family Stadium. Incarnate Word, Mercer, Creighton, Charleston and Austin Peay will all make trips to Manhattan in the month of March.
The Wildcats' Big 12 schedule begins in Fort Worth, Texas, at Lupton Stadium on March 23 with TCU, who has earned a trip to the College World Series each of the last four seasons. The Cats' first home conference series is against Texas, beginning Thursday, March 29.
April sees seven home games against Oklahoma State (6-8), Nebraska (10) and Baylor (27-29) along with eight straight road contests in the month at Texas Tech (13-15), Nebraska (17), West Virginia (20-22) and Omaha (25).
The Sunflower Showdown is the final home series of the season, beginning May 11. The Wildcats end the 2018 regular season with a Tuesday game at Wichita State before a three-game set at San Francisco May 17-19.
In total, K-State faces 25 opponents, nine of which qualified for the postseason in 2017, from 13 different conferences. The Cats will have 10 home games against teams that qualified for an NCAA Regional in 2017.
K-State finished the 2017 season with a 29-26 record, its first winning season since 2013, and returns 19 letterwinners from last year's squad.
