MANHATTAN, Kan. – Looking to use momentum from its round on Tuesday, the Kansas State women's golf team closes out the fall portion of its schedule this coming Monday and Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas. The event will be played on the brand-new Trinity Forest Golf Club, a par-72, 6,372-yard layout located southeast of downtown.
The two-day tournament will consist of an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start on both days with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final round of 18 holes played on Tuesday.
K-State will be led by senior standout Connie Jaffrey, who is coming off on a high note after winning the individual title at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational earlier this week. Jaffrey will be joined in the scoring lineup by freshmen Reid Isaac, Niamh McSherry and Ella Adams, in addition to sophomore Tash Carlsson.
"The team is ready to get to Dallas and compete at Trinity Forest Golf Club," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This is a links-style golf course, which will require a variety of shots."
A product of Kilwinning, Scotland, Jaffrey has been scorching hot all season as she holds a stroke average of 71.33. The victory earlier this week in San Antonio was her second of the season as she is the first Wildcat women's golfer to win multiple tournaments in a season since 2003-04.
Isaac finished the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational strong with a 3-under par 69 during the final round to jump 27 spots to a tie for 21st at 4-over par 220. The Montgomery, Texas, native enters the fall finale second on the team in stroke average at 73.50.
Joining Kansas State in the Trinity Forest Invitational will be BYU, Campbell, Chattanooga, Colorado, Houston, Missouri, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UNLV and UTSA.
