Talley Tied for Fourth, Cats in Ninth at MountainView

TUCSON, Ariz. – Paced by senior Madison Talley, the Kansas State women’s team is currently in ninth place after the second round of the MountainView Collegiate on Saturday at the par-72, 6,227-yard MountainView Golf Club.
Talley led the Wildcats on Saturday, shooting a 2-under par 70 to propel her to a tie for fourth place at 1-under par 143. Her five birdies in the second round was the most on the team for K-State.
“It was just a rough day overall for the team. We had too many dropped shots,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “I am confident that the team will bounce back strong tomorrow.”
Junior Connie Jaffrey is currently tied for 26th place at 4-over 148 through two rounds, while sophomore Chloe Weir, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 32nd place at 5-over par 149.
Senior Paige Nelson is tied for 41st at 7-over par 151, while fellow senior Katherine Gravel-Coursel has carded a 9-over par 153 and is tied for 50th. Freshman Tash Carlsson is at 12-over par 156 and tied for 56th place.
Arizona is the current leader at 15-under par 561, 17 strokes ahead of Houston for second place. Arizona’s Wanasa Zhou is the individual leader at 14-under par 130.
The MountainView Collegiate will resume Sunday with an 8:30 a.m., start to the final round. Live results can be followed atwww.birdiefire.com and results will be available at www.k-statesports.com after play on Sunday.
