
Turco Wins Consolation Bracket at ITA Central Regional Championship

IOWA CITY, Iowa?– Kansas State sophomore Anna Turco won the consolation bracket on Monday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championship at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.
"Anna got off to a great start today," head coach Jordan Smith said. "She did a great job of controlling the match from beginning to end. I was happy she was able to bounce back and win the consolation bracket."
In the semifinal round, Oklahoma's Jasmine Asghar withdrew before the match due to injury, pushing Turco through to the consolation final to take on Oklahoma's Ivana Corley. Turco defeated Corley in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1.
Turco went 2-0 in the consolation bracket, after first defeating Gabrielle Goldin of Missouri, 6-3, 6-0, on Sunday
The Cats will now prepare for the Tennessee Fall Invite in Knoxville, Tennessee, that will begin Friday, October 26.
