Sweeney Announces K-State Rowing Roster
Oct 02, 2018 | Rowing
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women's rowing team finalized their 2018-19 racing roster, Head Coach Patrick Sweeney announced on Tuesday, in preparation for the team's first regatta of the fall season at the Jayhawk Jamboree on Sunday, October 21.
"Naming the roster is an exciting and validating time for the squad," Sweeney said. "Each athlete knows this is only the beginning and there is much hard work ahead. Earning a place on this team is an ongoing challenge and we look forward to seeing how this team develops in the coming months."
Comprised of 65 individuals, the Wildcat's roster displays the hard work and dedication throughout the summer and fall training periods. The roster is made up of 65 individuals from throughout the Midwest, with a large number of student-athletes from the state of Kansas. In addition, the K-State roster includes 13 seniors, including the 2018-19 captains, Kennedy Felice and Taylor Flowers.
With the roster assembled, the Wildcats will prepare for the upcoming racing season beginning on October 21 with the Jayhawk Jamboree in Lawrence, Kansas. The regatta serves as the team's sole competition of the fall, providing the Wildcats with the opportunity to put their training to the test. The Wildcats will get their first opportunity on the water in the spring, when the team travels to Oklahoma City for the Oklahoma Scrimmage on March 2.
