
K-State’s Adams Notches Top-10 Finish in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas– Kansas State sophomore Ella Adams concluded a successful fall slate on Tuesday as she carded a 5-over par 221, finishing in ninth place in the Trinity Forest Invitational held at the par-72, 6,372-yard Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Adams carded a 3-over par 75 during the final round, as the Adelaide, Australia, was 3-over par on her first nine holes before going even par the rest of the way. The ninth-place finish is Adams' career-best finish and first top-10 performance. It was also the third-consecutive tournament that the sophomore led K-State in scoring.
"Ella had a great tournament," head coach Kristi Knight said. "She played solid golf each round. We are all proud of her."
The Wildcats carded an 18-over par 306 during Tuesday's final round to finish the tournament in ninth place at 45-over par 909.
"The course played tougher today in the high winds," Knight said. "We played well in stretches on some of the toughest holes. We normally fair pretty well in these conditions. However, we were not able to today."
Senior Chloe Weir tied for 42ndat 14-over par 230, while sophomore Reid Isaac finished 46that 15-over par 231. Sophomore Niamh McSherry carded an 18-over par 234 to tie in 49th, and freshman Briony Bayles rounded out the scoring by shooting a 20-over par 236 to finish in 55thplace.
Illinois earned the team title with an 8-over par 872. Ellie Slama of Oregon State took home the individual title by carding a 2-under par 214, edging out Bing Singhsumalee of Illinois by one shot.
The Wildcats will be back in action, February 25-26, when they travel to The Woodlands, Texas, to compete in The Dickson.
