MANHATTAN, Kansas - Kansas State will end its exhibition schedule for the 2018-19 season on Monday, Nov. 5 against Pittsburg State at 7 p.m., in Bramlage Coliseum.

• Monday night's game can be seen live on FOX College Sports - Central and K-StateHD.TV, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play) and Kristin Waller (color analyst) will have the call.  
• In its first exhibition game, K-State came back from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter to card a 48-46 win over Fort Hays State on Thursday, November 1.
• The Wildcats took a seven-point lead, 46-39, midway through the fourth quarter. Fort Hays State tied the game at 46 with under a minute to play, but junior forward and Katrina McClain Award Watch List member Peyton Williams made a layup with 25 seconds remaining. She then blocked the game-tying layup attempt by the Tigers to seal the win.
• Kansas State was able to rally back into the game by using a stifling defensive effort in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats held Fort Hays State to 1-of-12 shooting from the field in the final frame.  
• K-State was led by sophomore guard Rachel Ranke with 12 points, six rebounds and two steals. Redshirt junior Jasauen Beard narrowly missed a double-double as she finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Williams also approached a double-double with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
• The Wildcats were dominant on the boards against the Tigers, holding a 55-40 advantage. Of the nine players that saw the floor against Fort Hays State, five pulled in six or more rebounds.
• Defensively, K-State held Fort Hays State to a 15-of-64 (.234) shooting performance from the field while forcing 12 turnovers. K-State tallied seven blocked shots and six steals in the matchup.

• On the sideline, Pittsburg State is led by first-year head coach Amanda Davied. Davied, a 2003 Pittsburg State graduate, served as an assistant for 14 seasons under former head coach Lane Lord.
• The Gorillas return one starter and seven letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 23-7.
• Pacing the Tigers are senior Shelby Lopez and junior Athena Alvarado. Legette is the top returning scorer, rebounder and passer at 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Heim averaged 6.7 points and pulled in 3.1 rebounds.

Wildcats' Defense Forges Identity
• K-State has continued to be a force on the defensive end during head coach Jeff Mittie's five seasons on the bench.
• In the 2017-18 season, K-State allowed an opponent field goal percentage of .400 which ranked fourth in the Big 12 and a scoring defense of 66.6 points per game which was fourth in the league. K-State held 10 opponents to a .350 or less field goal percentage last season.
• During the last 17 seasons, K-State is 106-3 (.972) when holding an opponent to 49 points or less.

Goth, Williams Form Potent Duo
• K-State's Kayla Goth (17.5 ppg) and Peyton Williams (14.7 ppg) combined to average 32.2 points per game last season. In Big 12 action, the pair averaged 32.1 points per game.
• Goth (596 points) and Williams (501 points) were the eighth tandem in program history to register a combined 1,000 or more points in a season and the first since 2012-13 (min. 1,000 total points & 400+ by each player).
• The duo, who surpassed career season-highs in scoring, was responsible for 47.4 percent of K-State's total point production in 2017-18. In league play, they were responsible for 48.7 percent of K-State's points.
• Goth and Williams were third in the Big 12 in percentage of their team's overall point total.
• The last time K-State had a duo responsible for 45 percent or more of the team's point production was in 2012-13 when Brittany Chambers (21.0 ppg; 778 pts) and Haley Texada (11.8 ppg; 423 pts) were responsible for 53.0 percent of K-State's points.
• Each player improved their scoring average by 10.0+ points last season, as Goth improved by 11.7 points (5.8 to 17.5 ppg) while Williams improved by 11.0 points (3.7 to 14.7 ppg). Goth ranked fourth in the nation in scoring average increase, while Williams was fifth.
• According to Stats, Inc., Goth and Williams were the only teammates in the nation last season to increase their scoring average by 10.0 or more points. This was the first time in program history that two players improved by 10 or more points from one season to the next.
• Goth and Williams reached double figures in the same game 25 times in 2017-18, including a high of 47 combined points against Northern Iowa on December 21, Utah on March 18 and UC Davis on March 23.
