Cats, Cowboys Set to Start Series Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State will kick off its third Big 12 series as Oklahoma State visits Tointon Family Stadium for a three-game series beginning Saturday at 2 p.m.
The series, which was originally scheduled to begin Friday, will continue Sunday at 2 p.m. and conclude Monday at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
Both K-State (15-14, 2-4 Big 12) and Oklahoma State (15-11-1, 4-2 Big 12) are coming off conference series victories last weekend, as the Wildcats took two of three from Texas at home while the Cowboys swept 18th-ranked TCU in Stillwater.
The series opener will be broadcast on Cox Channel Kansas (2022) with a free live stream available on K-StateHD.TV and the K-State Sports Roku app. Games 2 and 3 will be streamed live on ESPN3 and the ESPN app.
The entire three-game series can be heard live on KMAN (93.3 FM, 1350 AM) with Saturday's game available on the K-State Sports Radio Network. Free, live audio is also available at k-statesports.com.

A LOOK AT K-STATE
Kansas State (15-14, 2-4 Big 12) comes off an 8-3 defeat at the hands of the Creighton Bluejays Wednesday night at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha ... K-State finished its first Big 12 series victory by taking two of three games against Texas at Tointon Family Stadium last weekend ... It was K-State's first home series victory against the Longhorns since 1998 and first series win overall since the 2013 season ... The Wildcats took the series opener, 5-2, on Thursday backed by Kasey Ford's 5 1/3 innings and allowing just one earned run while catcher TK McWhertor had a three-hit, two-RBI day ... Friday, K-State held a 10-3 lead going into the ninth inning, aided by Trent McMaster's three-run home run and five RBI, but Texas scored seven runs with outs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 10-10 ... Cameron Thompson delivered a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cats the series victory ... Thompson registered a career-high five hits in the game and was a home run shy of the cycle ... In the series finale, Texas used a seven-run fifth inning to take a 9-5 victory.

Senior outfielder Jon Littell was named Big 12 Player of the Week Monday after hitting .600 with three doubles, two triples and four RBI in the Cowboys' sweep of the Horned Frogs ...
