
Isaac Paces Cats Through First Two Rounds

EAST LANSING, Mich.– Kansas State sophomore Reid Isaac paced the Wildcats on Saturday and currently stands in a tie for 32nd place as she carded a 5-over par 149 through the first two rounds of play in the Mary Fossum Invitational at the par-72, 6,334-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course.
Isaac shot a 5-over par 77 during round one but bounced back with an even-par 72 in the second round.
The Wildcats opened the invitational by carding a 28-over par 310 during round one and improved their score in round two by a single stroke with a 27-over par 309. K-State finished the day at 43-over par 619 to enter the final round 14th place.
"Not a whole lot went well today," head coach Kristi Knight said. "The girls are certainly disappointed, but we have to leave today behind. We plan to finish strong tomorrow."
Trailing Isaac by six strokes were senior Chloe Weir and sophomore Niamh McSherry, each carding an 11-over par 155 to sit in a tie for 60th place. Freshman Briony Bayles followed by carding a 16-over par 160 and is in 78thplace, while sophomore Darby Deans is tied for 88thplace at 23-over par 168.
Virginia sits atop the leaderboard after carding a 5-under par 571. The Cavaliers currently hold a three-stroke lead over Georgia and Florida, which are deadlocked in second place. Anna Redding of Virginia leads all individuals after carding an impressive 7-under par 137. She leads Allyson Greer-Park of Michigan State by a single stroke.
The Mary Fossum Invitational will conclude Sunday with an 9 a.m. (E.T.), shotgun start time. Live results can be followed at www.golfstat.comand results will be available at www.kstatesports.comat the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday.
