K-State, Oklahoma Square Off Friday Night in Norman

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State volleyball will face its first Big 12 road test of the season, as it travels to Norman, Oklahoma, take on the Oklahoma Sooners Friday night at McCasland Field House for a 7 p.m. first serve.

K-State (10-2, 0-1 Big 12), who is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25, is coming off a five-set loss to No. 5 Texas at Ahearn Field House Wednesday night. Oklahoma (8-5, 0-1 Big 12) opened conference play with a three-set loss at TCU Wednesday. The Wildcats have taken the last six meetings in the series with the Sooners.

Outside hitter Kylee Zumach led the Cats with 20 kills against the Longhorns, her second straight 20-kill performance. The output moved the redshirt senior into sole possession of second place on K-State's all-time kills list (rally scoring).

K-State (10-2, 0-1 Big 12) pushed No. 5 Texas to extra points in the fifth set before falling in its Big 12 opener Wednesday night at Ahearn Field House.
The Wildcats stole the opening set and then leveled the match with a Set 4 victory and later had match point in the fifth set, fighting off three match points.
The loss snapped the Cats' season-long eight-match winning streak and marked their first five-set match of the season.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma (8-5, 0-1 Big 12) enters its first home conference match after being swept at TCU Wednesday night.
The Sooners had won their last three matches entering Big 12 play, including back-to-back home wins over Texas A&M on Sept 14-15.
OU boasts a 3-0 home record.
The Sooners are paced by senior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking who averages 4.31 kills/set, good for third in the Big 12.
Setter Kylee McLaughlin is fourth in the league with 10.59 assists/set while libero Keyton Kinley ranks second at 4.29 digs/set.
Oklahoma ranks in the bottom three of the Big 12 in hitting percentage, kills/set and blocks/set.
Sophomore middle blocker Paige Anderson posted a conference-high 14.0 blocks earlier this season (Sept. 8 at Georgia).

It marks just the second time in Zumach's career she has posted back-to-back matches with 20 kills and the first time since her freshman year in 2014.

Dixon was named MVP of the K-State Invitational in which the Cats were a perfect 3-0.

Senior middle blocker Macy Flowers leads the Big 12 and is third in the nation at 1.64 blocks per set.
As a team, K-State has been out-blocked just twice - in its season opener at Hawaii and Wednesday vs. Texas.

MILESTONE WATCH

With 336 career victories, head coach Suzie Fritz is tied with Nebraska's John Cook for the third-most wins in league history while a member of the Big 12.
Following her 20-kill performance Wednesday, Zumach now sits at 1,230 career kills which gives her sole possession of second in K-State history in the rally-scoring era.
