Cliff Rovelto Selected to Coach at IAAF Continental Cup

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cliff Rovelto has been selected to coach at the 2018 Continental Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic this weekend, as Rovelto will serve as an assistant coach specializing in the high jump for Team Americas on September 8-9.

The IAAF Continental Cup is an international track and field competition that occurs every four years, in which athletes represent entire continents, as Rovelto will serve as an assistant coach for Team Americas – comprised of the North America and South America continents. The Continental Cup features some of the most talented track and field athletes in the world, representing Team Americas, Team Africa, Team Asia-Pacific and Team Europe.

Coaching the Team Americans high jumpers, Rovelto will coach Bryan McBride (USA), Donald Thomas (Bahamas) Inika McPherson (USA) and Levern Spencer (Saint Lucia) at the Continental Cup.

Rovelto is no stranger to coaching International track and field competitions, recently serving as an Assistant Coach for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janiero, Brazil. This year's Continental Cup marks the third coaching appearance for Rovelto at the Continental Cup, coaching for Team Americas in 2014 and 2010.
