
K-State Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

MANHATTAN, Kansas – For the first time in the four-year history of the program K-State soccer garnered the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
During the 2018-19 academic year, K-State had a program-best 14 combined selections for the Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams. The Wildcats also saw four student-athletes earn Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team honors.
Beginning on Thursday night, Kansas State will play four of its next five matches on the road. The Wildcats begin a two-match swing through Oklahoma on Thursday. K-State will face Oklahoma at 7 p.m., in Norman on Thursday and visit Stillwater on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., to face Oklahoma State.
Both matches are available on 101.5 KROCK in Manhattan and for free at kstatesports.com. Thursday's match at Oklahoma is available on Sooner Sports TV. Sunday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
