MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State soccer head coach Mike Dibbini has added Arkansas transfer and one of the top players in the region in Kyler Goins to the 2020 roster. Goins will join K-State at the start of the second semester and begin her eligibility with the Wildcats as a sophomore.
"Kyler is a goal scorer," said Dibbini about the program's 11th addition for the 2020 season. "She has the ability to stretch the field with her speed and can play well with her back to the goal. When she is playing with confidence, she will be impactful for us. We are excited she will be joining our soccer family."
Goins, a forward from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, played in 11 matches for Arkansas who reached the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Goins tallied one assist and two shots for the Razorbacks.
A product of Union High School, Goins graduated a year early to join Arkansas. In 2017, she helped the program to the 2017 Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) Class 6A state championship. In 2018, Goins scored eight goals and tallied five assists.
Goins played her club soccer with TSC Hurricane ECNL. She ranked as the No. 5 player in the South Region for the 2020 recruiting class, according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. Goins tallied 58 points (24 goals, 10 assists) as a sophomore with TSC. She was named to the 2017-18 ECNL All-Texas Conference team for the U17 age group.
Kansas State closed out its fourth season of action with a 3-13-2 overall record and a 1-8-0 Big 12 record. The Wildcats set single season school records for total shots, corner kicks and tied the marks for goals and assists in Big 12 play.
