Carter Tabbed Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kan. – After a season-best 23 kills and three aces in K-State's four-set victory over TCU, sophomore outside hitter Aliyah Carter was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Carter, who now owns seven conference weekly awards (five rookie, two offensive), paced the Wildcats in kills in earning a series split at TCU last week. She logged her season-high kill total at a .327 clip in K-State's four-set victory on Friday to mark her fourth 20-kill outing of the season.
All four of her outings with 20 or more kills have come at an efficiency over .320. Carter has now authored 10 career matches with at least 20 kills to move into a tie for third place on K-State's all-time list in the rally-scoring era (since 2001).
A product of Dubuque, Iowa, Carter added a team-best 13 kills last Thursday to go with 10 digs, five blocks and an ace. She has now carded 10 double-doubles on the season, with eight coming over her last 13 outings.
She upped her season average to 4.19 kills per set, which ranks second in the Big 12 and 29th in the country.
Carter's weekly award marks K-State's second this season, joining Mackenzie Morris who was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday. The honor is the 69th under head coach Suzie Fritz and the Cats' 22nd weekly conference accolade since 2018.
K-State (12-7, 3-5 Big 12) returns to Bramlage Coliseum to host Texas Tech in a two-match series Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's contest will air nationally on ESPNU while both contests will have radio coverage available on News Radio KMAN (93.3 FM, 1350 AM) and online at K-StateSports.com/watch.
