Wildcats Struggle During Final Round at Old Waverly

WEST POINT, Miss. – Following a four-hour weather delay, the Kansas State men's golf team struggled during Sunday's final round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, held at the par-72, 7,088-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.
K-State, which entered the final round in a tie for 10th, fell three spots on the leaderboard following a final-round score of 14-over par 302. The Wildcats finished with a 54-hole score of 15-over par 879 to place 13th.
Senior George Clarke bounced back during the final round, as the Staffordshire, England product was the only Wildcat under-par on the day. Clarke shot a 1-under par 71 to move up 10 spots on the leaderboard in a tie for 72nd at 10-over par 226.
Junior Will Hopkins posted the best 54-hole score for the Wildcats, carding 4-over par 220 to tie for 46th. Sophomore Tim Tillmanns couldn't duplicate his early round success, shooting 10-over par 82 during Sunday's final round and finished two strokes behind Hopkins at 6-over par 222, putting him in a tie for 58th.
Sophomore Riccardo Leo was one stroke behind Tillmanns as he tied for 62nd at 7-over par 223. Freshman Luke O'Neill tied for 68th after tallying 9-over par 225 over the weekend.
No. 13 Georgia cruised to claim the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship title, as the Bulldogs finished at 20-under par 844, 10 strokes ahead of second-place team and host school Mississippi State. Texas A&M's Sam Bennett won the individual title at 11-under par 205.
K-State returns to action at the Missouri Tiger Invitational, the first of three-straight tournaments in the midwest region, on April 5-6.
