MANHATTAN, Kan. – Following a successful four-year stint competing at East Carolina, Marta Perez has been hired as an assistant coach for the Kansas State men's and women's golf programs.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Perez joins the Wildcats immediately after her collegiate playing career.
"I am delighted to welcome Marta to our programs," women's golf head coach Stew Burke said. "Her addition reflects K-State's commitment to our goal of competing with the nation's best and providing the resources we need to continue elevating our program. Marta brings tremendous passion, energy and a genuine desire to help our student-athletes succeed. She is eager to learn, grow and make an impact as a coach, and I am excited to see all she will bring to our team."
Perez was playing some of her best golf during her final semester as a Pirate, posting four top-15 finishes, which included a tie for fifth place at 3-under par 213 in Daniel Island Invitational and a tie for seventh place at 4-over par 220 at The American Championships, her final collegiate event.
"Marta is going to be a fantastic addition to our programs," men's golf head coach Grant Robbins said. "Her energy, enthusiasm and recent experience competing all over the world will bring a valuable and unique perspective to our student-athletes. We are excited to welcome her to Manhattan and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our team."
Perez also excelled off the course, as she was named to the Dean's List in Spring 2025, the Academic Honorable Roll in Spring 2023, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 as well as being named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2023-24.
Prior to her time at East Carolina, Perez redshirted the 2021-22 season at Minnesota after prepping for collegiate golf at IES Ortega y Gasset in Madrid. She was a member of Team Madrid at the Spanish Championships where she placed first, while she secured titles at both the Madrid U16 and U18 Championships in addition to the WAGR Capa Siero and WAGR Ladies Golf Tech Tour.
