
Entz Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Team

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State midfielder Brookelynn Entz added another academic honor to her impressive resume, as she was named to the 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women Scholar All-West Region First Team. She is the first K-State soccer student-athlete to receive this honor.
To be eligible for United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region recognition, student-athletes must have the following: 3.40 cumulative grade point average or higher, started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team, nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution and be a junior or above in academic standing; and a transfer in their second year at the school.
In the classroom, Entz graduated in December of 2020 with her undergraduate degree in psychology and a 3.91 grade point average. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in academic advising.
In addition to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region honor, Entz was named to the 2020 Senior CLASS Award All-America Second Team, as the Big 12 soccer co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a recipient of the Dr. Gerald Lage/Big 12 Academic Achievement Award and her third career Academic All-Big 12 First Team honor.
On the field, Entz owns or is tied for 28 career, single-season or single match school records including career goals scored (17), career assists (8), total career points (42) and goals in a single-season (seven, 2020).
During the 2020 season, Entz was named to the All-Big 12 First Team by setting the school record for goals in a Big 12 season (five). In total this season, Entz registered school records with seven goals and 15 points.
The native of Newton, Kansas, ranked third in the Big 12 for goals per game with 0.54. She ranked sixth in the Big 12 for goals scored. She was sixth in the Big 12 for total points and points per game (1.15).
Entz tied her school record for goals in a match with two in a pair of matches this season - at Iowa State on October 30 and at Missouri on March 28. She recorded at least one goal in two of K-State's three wins in the 2020 season.
In January, Entz became the first K-State player selected in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft as she was selected in the fourth round with the 38th overall pick by Kansas City NWSL. She was also the first K-State player to be selected as a candidate for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
Kansas State ended its fifth season of action with a 3-9-2 overall record. During the fall, the Wildcats recorded a 3-6-0 mark in Big 12 action. K-State finished a program-high seventh-place in the Big 12 standings and set the school record for goals in conference play.
K-State returns 18 letter winners and 85 percent of the goal scorers from 2020 including Entz, Kyler Goins, Bailey Nemechek, Shae Turner and Maddie Weichel. The Wildcats also welcome in 13 newcomers for the 2021 season.
