Three Matches Post Busy Week for Women’s Tennis

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women's tennis team has a busy week as the Wildcats travel to No. 68 Nebraska on Wednesday, March 2 before hosting home matches with Iowa on Friday, March 4 and No. 42 Northwestern on Saturday, March 5.
Wednesday's road match at No. 68 Nebraska (5-3) will start at 4 p.m., CT, while Friday and Saturday's matches will be played in Manhattan at the Mike Goss Tennis Stadium. Friday's match will begin at 1 p.m., CT against Iowa (4-4) and Saturday's match will start at 12 p.m., CT against No. 42 Northwestern (4-3).
Iowa's match was originally scheduled for February 6, but was postponed due to COVID concerns within the Hawkeye program.
Currently, two Wildcats find themselves in the Top-125 for singles play.
Senior Karine-Marion Job has a record of 4-2 in the number one spot for singles and finds herself ranked 96th in the nation. In the 108th spot is senior Rosanna Maffei. Before the season began, Maffei was ranked 125th and has since moved up.
At this time, K-State (4-3) is tied for 71st in the national poll with Iowa (4-4).
The Wildcats are 21-12 in singles play and 10-6 in doubles. Seniors Maria Linares and Ioana Gheorghita lead the Wildcats in singles play with 4-1 records.
The doubles pair of Job and Linares are 4-1 on the season. The duo teamed up against Arizona State's Sedona Gallagher and Giulia Morlet and defeated the pair, 6-1.
