MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State soccer head coach Mike Dibbini has brought on Olivia Seddon as the program's volunteer assistant coach. Seddon joins Dibbini's coaching staff which features second-year associate head coach Don Trentham and assistant coach/goalkeeper coach Matt Smith.
"We are so excited to add Liv and complete our staff," said Dibbini about the addition of Seddon. "She brings so much energy and has the passion to want to be a coach at the collegiate level. Her experience playing at the NCAA Division I level along with her Masters in Sports Coaching will help our program tremendously. We are looking forward to watching her pursue her passion of coaching."
Seddon's responsibilities with the program will include: video analysis and scouting, on-field instruction with K-State's student-athletes and assisting at K-State's various camps and clinics.
Prior to her arrival in Manhattan, Seddon was a five-year letter winner on the soccer team at Northern Colorado. A midfielder from Chino Hills, California, Seddon was a 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team selection and a 2021 All-Big Sky First Team honoree. In 2020, Seddon collected All-Big Sky Second Team honors and was a 2019 All-Big Sky Second Team honoree.
"Since I was young, I have always wanted to coach and stay involved in the competitive soccer scene," stated Seddon about continuing her development. "Growing up, I moved around a lot and worked under many different coaches who really shaped my playing experience. A few coaches had such a big impact and inspired me to want to be a part of that experience for others. Coaching is a profession where I can make a difference and help players achieve their goals while having fun and staying competitive in the sport that I fell in love with 20 years ago."
During her time in Greeley, Seddon received her bachelor's degree in sports and exercise science with an emphasis in sports coaching in 2020 and completed her graduate degree with a master of arts in sports coaching in 2022. For her work in the classroom, Seddon is a two-time United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region selection and a three-time Academic All-Big Sky honoree.
K-State concluded its sixth season of action in 2021 by tying the school record for wins in a season with six. The Wildcats also established new school records for goals in a season (20), assists in a season (20) and points in a season (60).
The Wildcats will return 11 of its top 12-point scorers for the 2022 season, including leading goal scorers Marisa Weichel and Kyler Goins with six and four goals, respectively.
Season tickets for the 2022 season will be available later this summer by contacting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS or by visiting kstatesports.com/tickets.
