Phillips Named to Big 12 All-Tournament Team

ARLINGTON, Texas – Following K-State's run to the semifinal round of the 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, Dylan Phillips was voted to the conference's all-tournament team as relief pitcher, the league office announced Sunday night.
Phillips appeared in relief three times in four games, picking up saves in both of the Wildcats' victories in the tournament. He totaled five innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run while striking out seven.
He logged perfect ninth innings in elimination games against both West Virginia (Thursday) and Texas Tech (Friday), striking out three of six total batters faced. The saves marked his seventh and eighth saves of the season, respectively.
In the Cats' semifinal matchup against Oklahoma, Phillips equaled his career long outing with three innings. The lefty closer struck out four while allowing one run on two hits.
It marks the first conference all-tournament nod of his career, as he is just the third Wildcat since 2012 to earn all-tournament honors. Last season, Eric Torres and Zach Kokoska were each named to the Big 12 Championship all-tournament squad.
The Wildcats (29-29) reached the semifinal round of the conference tournament for the second straight season. K-State went 2-2 in this year's Big 12 Championship, knocking out No. 8 Texas Tech and West Virginia on its way to Saturday's semifinal against Oklahoma.
