Nick Martini, NC Dinos (Korean Baseball Organization)
Martini signed a free-agent contract with the NC Dinos of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) last offseason. In 71 games with the NC Dinos, he has a slash line of .297/.369/.494 with 19 doubles, a triple and 10 homers. He has driven in 44 runs, scored 28 times and stolen three bases. Martini has hit safely in five of his last six contests, including a 2-for-4 day against SSG Landers on June 25. The NC Dinos are currently 27-43-2 and in ninth place in the league standings. Martini spent time over three seasons in the Major Leagues with Oakland, San Diego and Chicago (N.L.). In 112 career games, he had a career slash line of .270/.369/.369 with 14 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 30 RBI. The former All-American outfielder was a seventh-round selection of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011.
Will Brennan, Columbus Clippers (Triple-A, Cleveland Guardians)
After beginning the year with the Akron RubberDucks (Double-A), Brennan was promoted to Triple-A Columbus on May 26. In 27 games with the Clippers, Brennan is slashing .348/.426/.491 with 10 doubles, two home runs and 26 runs batted in. He was named International League Player of the Week on June 13 after producing five multi-hit games and going 16-for-25 (.640) with seven RBI and four steals. He raised his average from .220 to .379 in that stretch and reached base in 10 consecutive plate appearances over three games. Brennan has hit safely in his last five games and reached in his last nine. He went 3-for-6 with two doubles and four RBI in his last outing at Omaha on June 26. Brennan was the only Wildcat taken in the 2019 MLB Draft, as he was taken in the eighth round (No. 250 overall) by the Cleveland Indians.
Nate Griep, Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A, Colorado Rockies)
Griep was assigned to the Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A) after being a non-roster invitee to Spring Training by the Colorado Rockies. In 25 games with Albuquerque, He has no record, four holds and an 8.69 ERA (19 ER, 19.2 IP). Griep has struck out 14 and walked 15. Drew Mount, Louisville Bats (Triple-A, Cincinnati Reds)
Mount rose from the Arizona League (Rookie) to Triple-A Louisville a season ago in his third year with the Cincinnati Reds organization. On September 21 of last season, Mount was placed on the 60-day injured list after just four games with Louisville and is expected to miss the entire 2022 season. With the Bats, he went 1-for-9 with a walk and an RBI before going on the IL. Over three minor-league seasons (203 games), Mount has a slash line of .279/.335/.432 with 38 doubles, six triples, 21 home runs and 120 RBI. Mount was the only Wildcat taken in the 2018 MLB Draft when he was selected in the 16th-round by Cincinnati.
Eric Torres, Rocket City Trash Pandas (Double-A, Los Angeles Angels)
Torres was assigned to Double-A Rocket City this season after spending time with High-A Tri City last season. In 19 relief appearances this year, Torres is 2-2 and has an ERA of 1.44 (4 ER, 25 IP) while striking out 38. He has seven saves in eight opportunities while registering five holds. He did not allow a run in his first eight outings to begin the season and has held opponents scoreless in 15 of 19 games. Torres has struck out a season-high four hitters three times this season, the last coming over two innings on June 18 against Montgomery to earn the victory. With Brooklyn, he has appeared in six games (five starts) and gone 0-3 with a 3.91 ERA (11 ER, 25.1 IP) and 22 strikeouts. He logged two hitless and scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout in his last outing on June 26 against Jersey Shore. Seymour struck out seven while giving up just one earned run over five innings in a start against Aberdeen. Seymour was drafted in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2021 MLB Draft by the New York Mets.
Jordan Wicks, South Bend Cubs (High-A, Chicago Cubs)
Wicks in his in second season with South Bend (High-A) after becoming the first Wildcat to be drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft in 2021. He earned his first win of the season on June 17 against Quad Cities after allowing two earned runs over five innings along with six strikeouts and no walks. Wicks was K-State's highest-ever draft pick after being selected 21st overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 2021 MLB Draft.
Tyler Eckberg, Jupiter Hammerheads (Single-A, Miami Marlins)
