K-State’s Ukita and Suarez Claim Doubles Win in ITA All-Americans

CARY, N.C.- The K-State women's tennis team saw duo senior Manami Ukita and sophomore Vanesa Suarez compete in one consolation match on Sunday (Oct. 1) in the ITA All-Americans in Cary, N.C., at Cary Tennis Park.
Ukita and Suarez faced Colorado State's Sarka Richterova and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya in an eight game pro set, becoming victorious at 8-5. The pair is now 2-2 in doubles competition this season.
On Saturday (Sept. 30), they were defeated by East Carolina's Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain, 8-2.
K-State will compete next in the ITA Regionals starting Thursday (Oct. 12) in Lawrence, Kan., at the Jayhawk Tennis Center, hosted by Kansas.

"Really great response from our ladies today. [Head Coach Jordan Smith] really emphasizes with the team to control our side of the court and compete hard.
