K-State Heads to Tulsa For Match Against Golden Hurricane

The series is tied between the two schools, 1-1.
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team travels to Tulsa, Okla. for a dual against Tulsa on Saturday (February 11) at 1 p.m. CT at the Case Tennis Center.
The Wildcats (1-5) have faced Tulsa (5-3) in back-to-back seasons, with a 1-1 record, defeating them last season in Manhattan, 4-2.
In that last meeting on March 26, 2022, current sophomore Florentine Dekkers defeated Maria Berlanga Bandera, 6-2, 7-5. Current junior Manami Ukita was defeated by Lily Hutchings, 6-1, 6-3.
Last weekend in Iowa City (Feb. 4-5) against Denver (3-1) and Iowa (3-1), K-State dropped both matches as a majority of the singles matches went into three sets.
The two Wildcats points in the 4-2 decision against Denver came from Dekkers, victorious against the Pioneers' Andrea Burguete Beltran, 6-2, 0-6, 7-5, and Ukita, who beat Claudia Martinez de Velasco, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
