K-State Travels to Dallas for Match Against SMU

MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team travels to Dallas, Texas for a match against SMU on Friday (Feb. 24) at 3 p.m. CT at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
K-State (1-8) leads the series, 4-1, against SMU (5-3), with three straight wins from 2018-20. In their last meeting on Feb. 28, 2020, the Wildcats won 4-1 at home.
In their last match at Northwestern on Feb. 19, freshman Vanesa Suarez defeated No. 74 ranked Christina Hand in three sets, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 10-6, winning her second match of the season, her first against a ranked opponent.
Junior Aleen Quamar was also victorious against the Mustangs, defeating Sydney Pratt 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, in her second match as Wildcat.
Senior Rosanna Maffei's last meeting against SMU in 2020, her match went unfinished against Nicole Petchey 2-6, 6-4.
This is the last road game for K-State before two home matches at the Mike Goss Tennis Stadium on Wednesday, March 1 against Kansas City and Friday, March 3 against Wichita State.
