
Women’s Tennis 2023 Recruiting Class Ranked 22nd Best in Country

Polakova and Keitel will join the tean next fall as freshmen
MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Tennis Recruiting Network named the K-State women's tennis recruiting class for the 2023-24 season has been selected as the 22nd best in the country, as announced on Monday (February 6).
Head coach Jordan Smith announced in December the signings of Tereza Polakova and Charlotte Keitel, who will join the team in the fall as freshmen.
Polakova is an 18-year-old from Dolní Břežany, Czech Republic. In 2022, she competed mainly in the Junior ITF, beginning the year in January, winning the J5 Prague tournament. She finished the year with a 20-8 singles record, including a 7-match winning streak, and went 5-6 in doubles competition.
Keitel is a 17-year-old from Bad Dürkheim, Germany. In 2022, she went 19-12 in Junior ITF competitions, winning her last five singles matches and the J5 Merzig Tournament. She also went 7-6 in junior doubles play, winning the J4 Fuerth Tournament as part of a 4-match winning streak.
Stanford claims the No. 1 recruiting class, while Vanderbilt, Harvard, Georgia and UCF round out the top-five. At No. 5, future Big 12 foe UCF has the highest class among conference members followed by Oklahoma at No. 7 then K-State at No. 22.
