Wildcats with Work to Do in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - Following 18 holes of action on Friday at the MountainView Collegiate, the Kansas State women's golf team is tied for 16th place as the Wildcats shot a 9-over par 297 round to open the event held at the par-72, 6,352-yard MountainView Golf Club.
Leading the Cats is freshman Noa Van Beek, as she fired an even-par 72 first round, which is her fifth even or under-par round of the season. Van Beek is tied for 31st place but just a stroke off the top 20 on a tight 90-golfer leaderboard.
Following a 1-over par 73 round, Haley Vargas is tied for 46th place, while Remington Isaac is tied for 57th place with a 2-over par 74 round.Â
Competing as an individual this weekend is Gabriela McNelly, and she got started with a 3-over par 74 round to sit in a tie for 68th place.Â
Napua Glossner is tied for 82nd place with a 6-over par 78 first round, while Manon Donche-Gay is tied for 87th place with a 7-over par 79 first round.
"We had three solid scores today," said head coach Kristi Knight. "They all hung in there, and we can bounce back tomorrow."
Leading the event is a Big 12 foe and No. 37 TCU, which shot a 12-under par 276 round. The Horned Frogs are led by Caitlyn Macnab, who is tied atop the individual leaderboard with Iowa State's Karisa Chul-ak-sorn as they each carded a 7-under par 65 round.Â
The second round will begin Saturday at 10:45 a.m. (CT), with the final round scheduled for the same start time on Sunday. Fans can track live scoring on BirdieFire.com.
