Wildcats compete on Sunday against No. 43 Texas Tech at 10 a.m.
MANHATTAN, Kan.- The K-State women's tennis team were defeated 4-0 against TCU on Friday (March 24) at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

K-State (2-15, 0-5 Big 12) could not keep up with TCU (8-4, 1-2 Big 12), dropping the doubles point to start then losing three singles matches in straight sets.

Junior Manami Ukita was defeated by Destinee Martins in the No. 4 spot 6-2, 6-1. Junior Aleen Quamar in the No. 5 position was defeated 6-3, 6-1 by Yu-Chin Tsai. Senior Rosanna Maffei dropped her third ranked match in Big 12 play against No. 123 Mercedes Aristegui in the No. 2 spot 6-1, 6-1.

Three singles matches went unfinished when TCU clinched the match.

Sophomore Florentine Dekkers was up against her opponent Tiphanie Lemaitre, 7-5, 2-1, in the No. 1 position. Freshman Vanesa Suarez, in the No. 3 spot, competed against Jade Otway, 6-3, 2-3. Freshman Rozalia Gruszczynska's battled against Helena Narmont, 6-4, 4-0, in the No. 6 position.

The Horned Frogs won the doubles point in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Dekkers and Quamar were swept by No. 67 ranked team of Mercedes Aristegui and Jade Otway, 6-0, in the No. 2 spot. Suarez and Ukita in the No. 1 position were defeated by Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai 6-1. Gruszczynska and Maffei went unfinished against Destinee Martins and Tiphanie Lemaitre in the No. 3 spot, 5-1.
