
Four Rowers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Women earned the honor for their success in the classroom and the water
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Four members of the Kansas State rowing team were named to the Academic All-District VII team by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday (May 23).
Senior Jadyn Greisen, graduate students Kaitlyn Henke and Madison Jensen and senior Lauren Plum were selected for their efforts not just on the water but in the classroom.
"Our team prides itself on academic performance, and all of our athletes continue to make their education a priority," head coach Patrick Sweeney said. "We are proud of these athletes being recognized with this distinction. Each of them has contributed significantly to our program and they represent what it takes to find success in the classroom and on the water."
Greisen is a senior from Lincoln, Neb., majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.99 GPA. Racing in the 1v4+ this season, she won silver in the SIRA Championship, and defeated Creighton. Greisen also earned the 2022 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award. She was recognized twice as First Team Academic All-Big 12 and was a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie team her first year of racing. She was also the 2022 Big 12 Co-Scholar athlete of the year.
Henke is a graduate student from Hoffman Estates, Ill., with a degree in Interior Architecture and Product Design with a 4.00 GPA. This season, as the coxswain for the 1v4+, she also won silver in the SIRA Championship and defeated Creighton during the season. Henke also earned the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Award and was recognized three times as First Team Academic All- Big 12.
Jensen is a graduate student from Wichita, Kan., with a degree in Counseling and Student Development with a 4.00 GPA. Jensen was the only sixth-year senior on the team this season, racing in the 1v8+. She won the Big 12 Boat of the Week after defeating Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown and won gold in the SIRA Championship. She has also previously received the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award and has been recognized four times in the First Team Academic All-Big 12.
Plum is a senior from Healdsburg, Calif., with a degree in Animal Sciences and Industry/Biology with a 3.95 GPA. As the coxswain for the 2v8+, they defeated Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown and won gold at the SIRA Championship. Plum also earned the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Award and has been named First Team Academic All-Big 12 three times in her career.
Requirements for nomination included one year of previous competition, a 3.5 GPA or higher and 50 percent participation in races during the season.
