ARLINGTON, Texas – K-State's Brady Day and German Fajardo were voted to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team following their performances at the 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship. A full list of the all-tournament team selections can be found below.
Day and Fajardo's honors marks the third straight year K-State was selected to All-Tournament Team. It's the fourth time that multiple Wildcats were voted to the all-tournament squad.
In four games, Day produced a slash line of .385/.529/.462 with five runs scored. Day recorded a hit in three of the postseason contests, including two multi-hit efforts. The Cats' second baseman matched a career-high three hits when he went 3-for-4 in the season finale against TCU.
Fajardo, a native of Nogales, Ariz., became just the fourth Wildcat to register nine strikeouts in a single conference tournament game to match the program record. During his 7 1/3 innings, the right-handed starter retired 21 of the 29 batters he faced as he allowed just one run on five hits. Fajardo set the Jayhawks down in order in the fourth, fifth and sixth.
