
Uhlin Earns CSC Academic All-America Distinctions

Uhlin was named to the CSC Academic All-District VII last month
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Sophomore Emil Uhlin was named to the Academic All-America Men's Track & Field Third Team by the College Sports Communicators on Thursday (June 29).
A native of Falun, Sweden, Uhlin earned a 4.00 GPA in Biology for the 2022-23 academic year. During the indoor track season, he competed in the men's heptathlon, recording his personal best of 5,710 points during the Texas Tech Open & Multis. He competed in the decathlon twice during the outdoor season, finishing third during the Jim Click Combined Events with 7,440 points and fifth at the Big 12 Championships with 7,539 points.
Out of 51 Division I men named, Uhlin is one of eight from the Big 12 to receive the honor, including two from Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and one from Texas Tech.
Last month, Uhlin was also named to the CSC Academic All-District VII team along with eight teammates. In his two seasons as a Wildcat, he has collected Second Team All-American honors in the decathlon after finishing 12th at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, while earning Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades for his accomplishments in the classroom.
Requirements for nomination for CSC Academic All-America honors included one year of previous competition, a 3.5 GPA or higher and 50 percent participation in races during the season.
