
Men’s & Women’s Track Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, 11 All-Academic Athletes

This is the 8th straight year both teams are All-Academic
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State men's and women's track and field teams were both named All-Academic Teams on Thursday (July 13), along with 11 All-Academic Athletes, by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to qualify for All-Academic, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, the men's team had 3.193, the women's team at 3.555, both qualifying for the eighth straight year.
Five other Big 12 schools had both their men's and women's teams named All-Academic-- Cincinnati, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech. K-State, Kansas and Oklahoma State's women shared the highest GPA of 3.555, while Texas' men had the highest at 3.39.
Eleven Wildcats were also named All-Academic Athletes, including seven women-- Urte Bacianskaite, Jasmine Greer, Madelyn McCabe, Emma Robbins, Hannah Stewart, Grace Thompson and Shalysa Wray-- and four men-- Stephen Kielhofner, Kade McCall, Joe Placek and Emil Uhlin.
Kielhofner was also named an All-Academic Athlete for the cross country season.
Requirements for All-Academic Athletes included a cumulative GPA of 3.25, competition in at least two semesters and finished both the 2022-23 indoor season in the top-96 in their event and participated in any round of the NCAA Championships.
204 Big 12 student-athletes were named All-Academic Athletes, with BYU men having the most at 28 and Oklahoma State having the most women at 24.
Arkansas' men's and women's teams were named the indoor Scholar Teams of the Year, with Florida's men and Texas' women named the outdoor Scholar Teams.
