
Former Wildcat Texada Named to Inaugural Frisco ISD Hall of Honor

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Former K-State women's basketball letter winner Haley Texada has been selected as a member of the inaugural class of the Frisco (Texas) Independent School District (ISD) Athletics Hall of Honor.
Texada played four seasons with the Wildcats from 2011-15 and recorded 95 career games played with 65 starts. The product of Frisco, Texas, tallied 893 career points (9.4 ppg), 141 assists (1.5 apg), 268 rebounds (2.8 rpg) and 113 steals (1.2 spg).
Her breakout season in Manhattan came during her sophomore campaign in 2012-13, as she helped a shorthanded Wildcat squad reach the Postseason WNIT semifinals. During that season, she tallied a career-best 423 points (11.8 ppg), hauled in 136 rebounds (3.8 rpg) and 59 assists (1.6 apg).
In her only season with head coach Jeff Mittie in 2014-15, Texada averaged 11.5 points per game, 1.6 assists per game and 1.9 rebounds per game. She set career-highs in three-point field goal percentage (.351) and free throw percentage (.732) during her senior season.
Texada enters the Frisco ISD Athletics Hall of Honor from Wakeland High School. During her time with the Wolverines, Texada helped the program to a 2010 state runner-up finish and was a two-time Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-State and All-Region selection (2010 and 2011).
She was also a Texas Girls Basketball Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State recipient (2010 and 2011). She was a two-time District 9A Most Valuable Player. She played in both the TABC and the TGCA All-Star games in 2011. She was also honored by the Dallas Morning News in 2011, as she was selected to the 2011 All-Area Dallas/Fort Worth First Team.
The Frisco ISD Athletics Hall of Honor Class of 2024 class will be recognized on October 20 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, during the Frisco vs. Reedy football game. The official Hall of Honor Recognition Luncheon is planned for January 25, 2024. The inaugural class features two coaches, three teams, eight former athletes and three community members who have contributed to the success of athletics in Frisco ISD.
