
Wildcats With Six Top-Five Finishes in Corky Classic Day One

Day two will start at 10:40 a.m. with the women's 1000 meters, 11:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault
LUBBOCK, Texas – The K-State track and field teams competed in the first day of the Texas Tech Corky Classic on Friday afternoon (Jan. 19) at the Sports Performance Center.
Nine Wildcats competed in five field events, with junior Monique Hardy winning the women's weight throw, three more runner-up's and two more top-5 finishes.
Hardy won the weight throw for the third consecutive meet, with a distance of 20.94m/68-8.50. Seniors Jasmine Greer (4th; 17.62m/57-9.75) and Charlotte Cattermole-Williams (5th; 17.54m/57-6.50) also finished in the top-5 with sophomore Tamaiah Koonce (8th; 16.39m/53-9.25) rounding out the pack.
Senior Kade McCall recorded a new personal best in the men's weight throw, in consecutive meets, finishing in 2nd place with a throw over 70 feet at 21.36m/70-1.
Three Wildcats competed in the high jump—senior Devon Richardson (2nd; 2.14m/7-0.25) and sophomore Sharie Enoe (2nd; 1.82m/5-11.50) finishing runner-up in the men's and women's, respectively, along with junior Vanessa Mercera (7th; 1.67m/5-5.75).
Day two of the Corky Classic continues Saturday (Jan. 20) starting at 10:40 a.m. CT on the track with the women's 1000 meters, the field events beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT with women's pole vault A section. The days' events will be streamed on ESPN+.
