MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State soccer head coach Colleen Corbin has started to assemble her coaching staff for the 2025 season, naming Julie McClure as associate head coach.

"I am absolutely thrilled to add Julie to our staff here at K State and feel so lucky that her and Tanner have decided to call Manhattan home," stated Corbin on the newest addition to the coaching staff. "Julie has had an incredibly positive impact on both my life and my career, and I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to work with her again and to build something special together, along with the rest of our staff.

"She is a very talented coach who sees and understands the game at a high level and is the most competitive person I know. Julie will undoubtedly add to our team's culture of success and will pour everything she has into helping our young women achieve their full potential. Her past experiences as both an elite level player and a championship coach will provide her the opportunity to support our young women and be a sounding board for them as they navigate their own athletic careers.

"On the field, Julie will bring a disciplined and organized approach when developing our team's defensive identity, while also encouraging confidence and belief in their abilities. In the office, she will head up our recruiting efforts as we begin to search for talented players and high-quality humans to join our program in our pursuit of championships. Overall, she will be a fantastic addition to our staff who will teach, inspire and motivate, and I could not be more excited for the positive impact she will have on the K-State Soccer program and our student-athletes."

Prior to coming to the Little Apple, McClure spent four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wyoming. She helped guide the Cowgirls to a Mountain West Conference regular-season title during her second season in 2022, ending with an 8-6-6 overall record, which included a 6-3-2 league mark.

"I am extremely proud and excited to be joining the Wildcat family," said McClure about her appointment. "Colleen has been an amazing influence on my coaching career and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help lead this program with her. Her energy is contagious and her commitment to developing young women is something I truly admire. K-State has all of the tools to allow student-athletes to thrive. My husband and I can't wait to start our lives in Manhattan."

McClure primarily worked with the offensive third during her second and third seasons. The Cowgirls tallied 26 goals in 2023. They enjoyed seven multi-goal contests, including a five-goal outburst against Colorado College, which marked the largest margin of victory over a league foe in a shutout in program history.

McClure played a role in the Cowgirls leading the Mountain West at 1.4 goals scored per contest with a total of 28 goals scored in 2022. Wyoming also logged eight games in which it scored at least twice and four contests where it scored three or more goals. She also mentored two All-Mountain West Conference First Team recipients, including the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Jamie Tatum.

In McClure's first year, she helped lead the Cowgirls to a season where they netted 30 goals, which was third best in the Mountain West Conference. That offensive output included a six-goal effort against Nevada, which was the most goals scored ever for the Cowgirls against a league foe. Wyoming tallied at least three goals on five different occasions.

Prior to Wyoming, McClure was an assistant coach at James Madison for the 2020 season and worked with Corbin.

McClure started her coaching career at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania during the 2017 to 2019 seasons where she attained a Master of Arts degree in Organization Management. In her time with the Cougars, the team went a combined 32-8-4 in two seasons which included trips to the 2017 NCAA Division III Round of 32 and the 2018 NCAA Division III Elite Eight.

In the 2018 season, McClure was part of a coaching staff that was named the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches. She

McClure, a native of Eastampton, New Jersey, played collegiately at Monmouth University from 2013 to 2016 and attained a bachelor's degree in health studies in 2017.

Her playing career included being named to the 2016 NSCAA/USC All-Region First Team, 2016 NSCAA/USC Division I Scholar All-American, three-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First Team selection and 2013 MAAC All-Rookie Team honors.
