1. K-State Among Top Defenses in Nation
• K-State leads the Big 12 and ranks 9th in the nation in scoring defense (54.2 ppg). The Wildcats lead the league and are 4th in the nation in FG percentage defense (.344) and are 3rd in the nation for 3-point FG percentage defense (.247). K-State has held 18 foes to under 60 points in a game this season.
2. Cats Deal in Rejection
• K-State leads the Big 12 and ranks 10th in the nation for blocked shots per game (5.7). The Wildcats have tallied 137 blocks this season and are on pace for the sixth 150+ block season in the Jeff Mittie era.
3. Sundell Turning Up the Heat
• Over her last six games, junior guard Serena Sundell is averaging 15.0 points on a .525 field goal percentage, 5.5 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.7 steals.

• K-State rallied from a 7-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure a 69-68 win over the Cowgirls.
• The Wildcats are 4-1 this season and 46-30 (.605) in the last 12 seasons in games decided by five points or less.
• K-State featured four players in double figures are were led by Brylee Glenn with a season-high 23 points. Serena Sundell approached her second double-double of the season with 16 points, seven assists, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Gabby Gregory added 11 points and four assists, while Zyanna Walker tallied 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds.

• Iowa State (13-9, 7-5 Big 12) enters Wednesday's game following an 86-72 home loss to (24/rv) Oklahoma on Saturday.

K-State Among the Rankings
• Kansas State remains in the Associated Press (AP) top-25 poll, as the Wildcats moved up to 7th in the Feb. 12 poll.
• The Wildcats achieved the program's highest ranking in the Jeff Mittie era (2014-present), as the team was ranked 2nd on Jan. 29. It was the highest ranking for the program in the AP poll since Nov. 25, 2002 when K-State was ranked 2nd.
• According to Stats Perform, K-State was the first women's program since the start of the AP poll in 1976 to go from unranked in the preseason to either No. 1 or No. 2 in the same season.
• Since making its poll debut on Nov. 20 this season, K-State has been ranked for 13 consecutive weeks this season. This is the longest consecutive streak for K-State since being ranked for the entirety of the 2004-05 season. In its history, K-State has now been ranked for a total of 187 weeks in the AP poll.
• As an AP ranked team, K-State owns a 243-90 (.730) record. 
• The Wildcats are ranked 6th in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll. K-State reached a high of 2nd in the Coaches Poll for two straight weeks this season, its highest since being ranked 2nd in the third poll of the 2002-03 season.
• This season is the first time since the 2008-09 season that K-State has been ranked in 12 straight USA Today/WBCA Coaches Polls.

Wildcats on the Road
• This season, K-State is 5-2 in road games. The five-game road winning streak was K-State's longest since a five-game streak in the 2012-13 and 2018-19 seasons.
• Among its five road wins this season, the Wildcats own two over AP top-25 opponents (at #2 Iowa; at #13 Baylor).
• With its win at Little Rock on Nov. 11, 2023, K-State snapped an 11-game road losing streak. This was tied for the longest road losing streak in program history.
• With its win at then second-ranked Iowa on Nov. 16, 2023, K-State secured its highest ranked road win in program history and ended a 14-game road losing streak against ranked opponents.
• K-State has a 291-323 (.474) record in road games during the program's 56-year history. 
• Since the 2000-01 season, K-State owns a 131-144 (.476) mark in road contests. 
• In his career in games played on the road, head coach Jeff Mittie is 167-203 (.451) including a 42-66 (.389) mark during his time at K-State.

February Historically Tough
• K-State is 230-198 (.537) in the second month, which percentage-wise, is the lowest month for K-State.
• The Wildcats are 33-39 (.458) under head coach Jeff Mittie in the month of February.
• In 2019-20, Kansas State registered the 27th February in the 55-year history of the program with a .500 or better record with a 5-4 mark.

Wildcats Picking Pockets
• The Wildcats continue to swipe the basketball at a high rate. K-State has 213 steals (8.9 spg) this season. Of the 394 opponent turnovers this season, 54.1 percent have come off a K-State steal.
• K-State has 11 games with 10 or more steals this season, including a season-high of 18 against Presbyterian.
• Since joining the Wildcats as freshmen in the 2021-22 season, the trio of the Glenn sisters and Serena Sundell have combined for 448 steals (4.80 per game in 93 games). The 448 steals in the last three seasons are 56.4 percent of K-State's 794 total steals.
• Kansas State displayed quick hands in the 2022-23 season, as the Wildcats pocketed 336 steals and were second in the Big 12 in steals per game (9.33 spg). Of the 614 opponent turnovers, 54.7 percent came by way of a K-State steal. 
• According to HerHoopStats.com, K-State ranked third in the Big 12 with a steal rate (percent of opponent plays that result in a steal) of 11.0 percent. During the Jeff Mittie era at K-State, the 2022-23 steal rate ranked second over the nine-season span, trailing the 2014-15 season (14.4 percent).
• K-State featured three players with 60 or more steals last season: Jaelyn Glenn (91), Sundell (67) and Brylee Glenn (61). The trio had the most combined steals of any three teammates in the Big 12 last season (219).
• Since at least the 2009-10 season, the 2022-23 season marked the first time K-State featured three players with 60 or more steals.

Sharing is Caring
• K-State continues to be an unselfish squad at the start of the 2023-24 season.
• The Wildcats have 456 assists (19.0 apg) and own an assist to turnover ratio of 1.41. K-State has tallied an assisted shot rate of 68.4. 
• K-State is third in the Big 12 and 10th in the nation for assists per game and are second in the league and rank seventh in the nation for assisted shot rate. K-State also leads the Big 12 and ranks 15th in the nation for assist to turnover ratio (1.41).
• K-State handed out 23 or more assists in six straight games from Dec. 1 to Dec. 30. 
• Against McNeese State, K-State dished out 29 assists on 40 made field goals. The 29 assists were the most since handing out 30 against Incarnate Word on Dec. 3, 2019.
• Over the last 16 years, the Wildcats are 90-7 (.928) when handing out 20 or more assists.
• In the 2022-23 season, the Wildcats handed out 516 assists (14.3 apg) and recorded an assist on 61.4 percent of made field goals. 
• K-State ranked sixth in the league in assists per game and assist to turnover ratio (0.96). According to HerHoopStats.com, K-State ranked 43rd in the nation and third in the Big 12 in assisted shot rate.
• Since assists became an officially tracked stat in 1981-82, K-State has registered an assisted shot rate of 60.0 percent or higher at the end of a season 23 times in its history.

Sundell Uses Her Length
Serena Sundell continues to use her length to disrupt her opponents on the defensive end.
• This season, Sundell is averaging 1.46 steals and 0.79 blocks. She has tallied 10 games with two or more steals and five games with two or more blocks.
• She has two games this season with three steals and three blocks in the same game - Presbyterian (Nov. 6) and Kansas (Jan. 20).
• In her career, Sundell owns 68 career blocked shots (0.73 bpg) and owns the school record for career blocked shots by a guard. 
• Sundell has 15 games with two or more blocks including a career-high four at Oklahoma State on Jan. 5, 2022. 
• She has tallied 136 steals (1.46 spg) in her career and has 35 career games with two or more steals including nine career games with four or more steals.
• In the 2022-23 season, Sundell averaged 1.86 steals per game (67 steals) and 0.72 blocks (26 blocks). She ranked fifth in the Big 12 for steals per game and 12th for blocks per game. Sundell led the Wildcats with 26 blocks.
• Sundell set a new personal season-high for blocks and set the school record for blocks in a season by a guard (26). She achieved a personal season-high for steals with 67.
• Against Baylor on Feb. 15, Sundell registered a personal season-high five steals which equaled her single-game career-high.
