K-State Cross Country Teams Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

This is the fourth consecutive year both teams have been named All-Academic
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State men's and women's cross country teams were named All-Academic Teams last Thursday (Feb. 1) by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the fourth consecutive year.

In order to qualify for All-Academic, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Wildcats women's team accumulated a GPA of 3.749 GPA, while the men's earned a 3.67 GPA-- the second highest among the Big 12 conference, just behind Cincinnati at 3.687.

All 12 eligible Big 12 schools saw their men's and women's teams named All-Academic, UCF and West Virginia's women also earning the distinction. Cincinnati's women had the highest GPA at 3.764.

Oklahoma State's men were named the Scholar Team of the Year, the first since 2012, after winning the 2023 NCAA Championships and maintaining a 3.164 GPA. N.C. State is the Women's Scholar Team of the Year for the third consecutive year by winning the 2023 NCAA Championships and maintaining a 3.51 GPA.

All-Academic Athletes were also named, student-athletes qualifying must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 in the NCAA Regional Championships or NCAA Championships. Last season K-State's Stephen Kielhofner was named.

This year the Big 12 had 17 men and 19 women named All-Academic-- Texas' men with the most at six, and Oklahoma State's women with seven.
